Deep
So often when we think of the people we would like to know, they are people with fame and status and wealth. But Paul writes of knowing Christ, and knowing both in the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings. Somehow in our sufferings and in the sufferings of other people, we come to know Christ better. For the Apostle Paul, it was like diving into the deep end of the pool, and somehow knowing Christ in an even deeper way in his hardship and suffering. It gave him a whole new perspective and insight. It is something we might want to keep in mind when we face adversity and difficulty. Paul shares his deep desire in simple, beautiful words:

Lord, help me to be willing to experience the deepest part of you and keep others in prayer who are undergoing challenge and adversity both near and far, through Christ who bore all our sorrow, amen.
