Grant's House #54

Grant House left a special legacy to everyone whose life he touched while here in our midst and when he passed away his legacy to touch people's lives by having a place where everyone was welcome and everyone had a place to help make their dreams come true.

If You Never Met Grant, Then Take a Special Moment . . .

Grant was taken from us at a young age but he continues to inspire us and his legacy and heart of service lives on at Grant's House . . .
Jay House Supports Wabash Center

Meet Jay House! We appreciate Jay’s nearly ten years of service to Wabash Center. Jay is a self-employed father to four children who began serving Wabash Center’s mission after participating in Leadership Lafayette. His eldest son, Grant, was able to find supported employment for several years at Wabash Center after transitioning out of educational supports. After the sudden loss of Grant in 2015, Jay, his wife Tamara, and their children began the journey of growing Wabash Center’s Youth Services. Grant was a beloved member of the Wabash Center Family and community. They set goals with Wabash Canter and spent years fundraising, building, and advocating for a place called Grant’s House in honor of Grant House, that provides a home to Wabash Center programs the offer resources and programming for youth and young adults with special needs. Jay is known as a good man, who lives to get to know people and to serve his family. Grant’s House continues to thrive with Jay’s leadership and his selfless volunteerism. “We all have a purpose,” Jay says. His is to share the message of inclusion and speak about the system. Jay gives thanks for the staff who dedicate their hearts to those Wabash Center serves, and to the people who believe in Grant’s House and the need for quality services.
