Other Missions at Immanuel
Habitat For Humanity Apostle Build
In an Apostles Build project, 12 churches, or coalitions of churches, come together to build a Habitat for Humanity house. They raise the money and provide the labor and prayer support to build a house in partnership with a local family. The idea of going out into the community to serve others, in the way that Jesus’ apostles served, has attracted individuals in many churches. With Habitat for Humanity, churches can share God’s love by building houses.
The word disciple comes from the Latin word for pupil or learner. Jesus chose 12 disciples as his closest associates. They traveled with Jesus and learned from him.
In Matthew 10, Jesus sends out the 12 on a mission. He “gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness” (verse 1). The passage continues by listing the names of the 12 who are then referred to as apostles.
An apostle is someone who is sent on a mission.

Immanuel collects school supplies and backpacks  each year for youth in need.

Each year our youth make soup to sell on Super Bowl Sunday, and the proceeds to a charity of their choice. This year they chose Cover Lafayette as our charity. Due to COVID a soup sale was a bit of a challenge this year. So, we decided to sell a dry soup mix that we put together. We sold a lot less soup this year due to decreased number of in person worshipers.

We were still able to raise around 300.00. I just went and bought 33 blankets that we will drop off later today along with more items dropped off in our collection box.

Immanuel has  partnered with Earhart Elementary to help provide for some of their needs.

We have raised money the last 2 years to provide new recess equipment for the kids.

Donated School supplies.

Provide monthly treats for the teachers.

to name a few.
