To share a little more about myself, I have previously served as pastor of a number of churches, including University Church at Purdue. I have also served as an adjunct professor at Purdue in Organizational Leadership. My education includes a M.Div. and S.T.M. from Yale as well as a PhD in Educational Psychology and Higher Education Administration from Purdue. In addition, I served as a contributing editor for William B. Eerdmans Bible Dictionary (1989) and the Eerdmans Dictionary of the Bible (2000). My new book, "Follow the Fire: Lessons in Life and Leadership" takes a 40 day journey in the footsteps of Moses as he leads the people of God from bondage to promise (available through Amazon and other book outlets.)
On a personal note, the best part of my life is spending time with my 17-year-old daughter, Savannah, especially going to the beach and boating. I also enjoy travel, the beach and boating, golf, tennis, swimming, working out and riding my motorcycle. Through the years, I have enjoyed volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, occasionally volunteering at my daughter's school, and also serve as a volunteer for the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and Indiana Wing Chaplain for the US Air Force Auxiliary. I have also served as a chaplain for police and fire fighters.
I am enthusiastic about serving as pastor at Immanuel and enjoy the good folks of the Hoosier Heartland with great people at church and in the community. My passion is to help people grow personally and spiritually by applying the timeless truths of God's Word to everyday life. Come discover us, and discover Christ at work!
Pastor TJ Jenney, Ph.D.
Our Core Values are...
Uniting in Christ Listening to God Serving His World
What We Believe...
That they may all be one. (John 17:21)
In essentials unity, in nonessentials diversity, in all things charity.
Testimonies of faith rather than tests of faith.
The priesthood of all believers.
There is yet more light and truth to break forth from God's Holy Word.
Welcome! We hope you will discover Immanuel and find it a welcoming community of faith where you can Connect, Grow and Serve--Pastor TJ
